Repeat Prescriptions
Requests for repeat prescriptions can be made in person, by post, fax (0131 557 2177) or e-mail to reception.s70018@lothian.scot.nhs.uk. (E-mail users should be aware that this is not secure). Postal requests should be sent with a stamped addressed envelope if the prescription is to be posted back. No telephone requests can be accepted unless authorised by a GP. Requests received before 10am are normally ready for collection from 2pm the same day. Requests received after 10am are ready for collection from 2pm the next working day.
Prescription requests from hospital consultants are not urgent and will be processed in the timeframe described above.
Some local pharmacies operate a prescription collection service. This can be arranged through the pharmacy. Please note - we do not fax prescriptions to pharmacies unless it is urgent and at the request of the GP.
