Ros Chadha

I joined the practice in 1991 and have been Practice Manager since 1999.  I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice.  Your views and suggestions about any of the services offered by the practice are welcome.  I work three days a week (Wed - Fri) and can be contacted by telephone via reception or by e-mail to ros.chadha@lothian.scot.nhs.uk.  My colleague Sandra Mackie (Deputy Practice Manager)is available in my absence.


Dr Ian Davey - 1975 MB ChB, MRCGP, Dip ObstRCOG, FRACGP

I graduated from Edinburgh University and trained for general practice in Edinburgh Hospitals and Edinburgh University Health Centre. I worked in a country practice in NSW, Australia for 5 years before joining the practice here in 1984. I have been a GP Trainer since 1990 with responsibility for teaching trainee GPs.


Dr Claire Pedder – 1990 BSc MB ChB, DRCOG, MRCGP

After an intercalated Honours degree in Biochemistry, I qualified in medicine in Edinburgh.  I qualified as a General Practitioner in 1995, after which I did further training in Community Paediatrics.  I joined the practice in 1998 and am jointly responsible for the training of new GPs in the practice with Dr Davey.


Dr Helen Faulding-Bird - 1991 MB ChB, MRCGP

I graduated from Edinburgh in 1991 and completed my General Practice training before spending a couple of years in the USA where I held an Academic Fellowship at the University of Massachussetts.  Following this I spent a further 2 years at Edinburgh University undertaking a research and teaching role in the Department of General Practice.  I joined Eyre Medical Practice in 1999 and continue to work on a part-time basis.  I am involved with teaching medical students and junior doctors, as well as appraising other GPs.


Dr Keith Cohen - 1998 BSc (Hons) MB ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG

I graduated from Dundee University and before embarking on GP Training I worked in New Zealand and Australia for 18 months. I returned to my home city of Edinburgh and completed my GP Training in 2003. I joined Eyre Medical Practice in 2005 and am involved with teaching medical students and junior doctors.


Dr Lucy Kelman – 1998 MB ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG

I graduated from Aberdeen University in 1998 and underwent further training in general medicine, A&E, geriatrics, paediatrics and obstetrics & gynaecology. I joined Eyre Medical Practice as the GP Registrar in 2001 and then worked as the GP Retainer for five years between 2003-2008.


Dr Kirsty Glen - 2002 MB ChB, MRCGP

I graduated from Aberdeen University in 2002 and trained in various hospitals in Scotland and also worked in Melbourne and New Zealand. I joined Eyre Medical Practice in 2006 as the GP Registrar and completed my GP training in 2007. Following this I worked as a locum GP in Lothian and became GP Assistant at Eyre in April 2009.


Dr Rosamund Peters


Practice Nurses - Fiona Crowther, Jacqui Scott & Karen Higgins

The surgery has three part-time Practice Nurses.  They provide a range of services including dressings, ear syringing, cervical smears, immunisations and chronic disease management.  They also provide advice on diet and how to achieve a healthy lifestyle.  You can see a Practice Nurse by phoning 0131 556 8842 for an appointment.


Health Visitors - Dawn Goodsir, Catriona Hepburn & Orla Carney

The surgery has two part-time Health Visitors who give expert advice on health promotion, particulary for children, older people and people with disabilities.  They run child health clinics by appointment and also have an open access forum for new mothers and babies.  Together with the doctors they run the child health surveillance and child immunisation programmes.  They have a nurse assistant - Suzanne Baker.  They can be contacted on 0131 556 6250.


District Nurses - Fiona Jamieson, Caroline Smith & Jennifer Hickey

Patients who are confined to their homes and who require nursing assistance may arrange for a District Nurse to call. The District Nurses can be contacted on 0131 524 0150.


Reception, Secretarial and Administrative Staff

The prime function of the reception team is to assist patients in getting the best from the services available. They work to guidelines which have been agreed by the doctors and are not in a position to offer medical advice. The doctors are also supported by our secretaries and administrative staff.
